THE MISSION OF FIRSTLIGHT
In a world full of confusion and heartbreak, pain and controversy, many individuals – Christians and non-Christians alike – do not understand God’s perspective on sex.
The mission of FirstLight is to help them see their sexuality in light of God’s word and recognize that through Jesus Christ, there is hope and healing for anyone caught in patterns of sexual sin.
Our purpose is to help followers of Jesus Christ, particularly those who have struggled deeply in their sexuality, to glorify God with their body by living out the orthodox understanding of Christian sexual ethics grounded in the Bible.
Core Objectives

ONE
To assist Christians who have unwanted and inappropriate compulsive sexual behaviors and obsessions, by equipping them to adhere to the Bible’s teaching on sexuality and God’s intent for them to enjoy a life in Christ.

TWO
To support, encourage, and disciple those who have been wounded by the sexual betrayal of a family member, especially a spouse.

THREE
To assist the church in discipling believers who've been harmed by unbiblical and destructive sexual practices, ideas, and teaching by empowering believers to live from the power of the grace in the gospel, obey God out of love for him, and experience joy in practicing chastity.

FOUR
To be a Reformationally-based ministry that works with other Christian organizations to enlarge our field of work as well as our financial base of support.

To develop and maintain a qualified and trained staff—both paid and volunteer.

To maintain high standards in every aspect of our personal and professional integrity; in the care we offer to our participants; and in maintaining care and mutual respect for one another and an ordered accountability as members of the FirstLight organization.

SEVEN
To maintain transparent financial accountability and review, within the constraints of our budget, and to practice integrity and wise stewardship with all the resources God brings to our ministry.
